Mount Robson Canada
"Mount Robson Canada" is an odd term, so let's clarify it.
Mount Robson is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and the centerpiece of Mount Robson Provincial Park, which is adjacent to Jasper National Park.
We will, however, continue using the term "Mount Robson Canada" in case, for whatever reason, you searched those specific words. But be aware you will not find it labeled as such elsewhere. You'll see it as simply "Mount Robson."
In the early 1900s, a British mountaineer named Frank Smythe wrote numerous books about the world's mountains. He was a respected authority on the subject. This is what he said about Mount Robson Canada:
Mount Robson is not only the highest mountain in the Canadian Rocky Mountains but one of the great mountains of the world, and deserving of inclusion in any select list on account of many striking characteristics and a form, beauty, and grandeur transcending any other of the greater peaks of the Rockies. The mountain is unique, and its massive precipices, seamed with different-coloured rock strata, enhance it in both beauty and stature.
Arthur Wheeler, a surveyor who later co-founded the Alpine Club of Canada, had this to say about Mount Robson Canada: It constitutes a picture of such unique character that it will probably become world-famous among artists as an outstanding example of a tremendous, solitary, self- contained subject in black and white, in the boldest style imaginable.
It was the most stupendous alpine scene I had ever gazed upon, setting the blood coursing though the veins as fast as a torrent, with the pure joy of being alive and there.
Wheeler also called Mount Robson Canada "ethereal," "resplendent" and said "it seemed to belong to a world other than our own."
