Mabel Lake
Mabel Lake is in south-central British Columbia. To be precise, it's southeast of Shuswap Lake, northeast of Okanagan Lake, and west of the Monashee Mountains.
From Sugar Lake, the Shuswap River flows into the south end of Mabel Lake. From Mabel's midriff, the Shuswap River continues westward into Mara Lake.
Mabel Lake is about 35 km (22 mi) long and stretches generally north-south. It has a surface area of 5990 hectares (14,802 acres), an average depth of 114 m (374 ft), and a maximum depth of 192 m (630 ft). The lake's elevation is 396 m (1299 ft).
The primary lake access is the road proceeding east from Enderby. The town of Kingfisher is near the lake's outlet. The town of Mabel Lake is near Shuswap Falls, well south of the lake.
Forested mountains surround the lake. Mabel Lake Provincial Park is on the southeast shore. Skookumchuck Rapids Provincial Park is on the Shuswap River, just west of the lake.
