Hiking Trails In Banff
"Which is your favourite of all the hiking trails in Banff National Park?"
We occasionally pose that question to people who've contacted us via email after purchasing and using one of our books—either Don't Waste Your Time in the Canadian Rockies, The Opinionated Hiking Guide, or Done in a Day Banff, The Ten Premier Hikes.
Here are a few of the responses we've received:
"Of all the hiking trails in Banff, my favourite is Cascade Mountain. It's a long day, steep and rough, but standing on that summit and looking down on Banff townsite is awesome. I've done it twice, and I'll do it again."
"That's a hard question to answer, because I've enjoyed every trail I've hiked there. But if I had to pick my favourite of the hiking trails in Banff, it would have to be Healy Pass. It has everything: meadows, flowers, lakes on both sides, and big peaks in every direction. I love that hike."
"I won't tell you my favourite, because I don't want word to spread that it's so fantastic. I'd rather have it all to myself! But I'll tell you my second favourite. It's the backpack trip into Skoki Valley and looping back around through Cottongrass Pass. It all feels so vast and wild! But there are so many world-class hiking trails in Banff, I could go on picking favourites for hours."
"Gimme about ten years, then I'll get back to you on that. There are just too many great hiking trails in Banff."
